OpenDocument4All C# Tool For ODF

Saturday, 2007-January-27

OpenDocument4All offers automation tools for the OpenOffice.org office applications suite. This means that programmatic access is available for OASIS ODF (ISO 26300) documents, which can be produced by OOo, KOffice, or several other applications. Among these tools is AODC, which converts ODF documents into HTML files for viewing in a Web browser; AODL, a C# library for creating ODF documents; some CLI / .Net wrappers for OOo's UNO interfaces; and some short tutorials on automating the OpenOffice.org suite.

While much of this is still in very early stages, the screenshots and examples look like a good start toward a useful tool to place in the hands of businesses which have invested in automating or scripting office applications.  It will be good to keep watching this project.

It seems AODL is not responding very much.

We’ve used it and it works quite well, although there are severe performance problems, when generating large documents (more than thousand rows)

Performance will be fixed soon, though ;)
