New Term For Unwanted Preinstalled Software

Language warning: If you are sensitive to mild expletives, you may not want to read this.

Have you ever bought a new computer and then spent hours or even days trying to de-crapify it?  I certainly have.  About a year ago, I purchased three laptops from a major vendor.  It took about a week to remove all of the "craplets" that were pre-installed.  That includes some that required me to download an uninstall tool, and some that I finally had to just remove their folders in C:\Program Files.

LinuxGeekBoy relates that the new term for these unwanted programs is "craplets."

I always thought HP / Compaq had the right idea by supplying a standard Windows CD with their machines, so the user could just go and install vanilla Windows on it, if they knew how. But I think the real story here is the wonderful word that is Craplets. Say it with me!
