I will not delve deeply into the political side, as I detest politics and politicians both.
Let me just say that I have lost a family member to war, not recently, but that hardly matters to me. For that reason, I wish to celebrate those who are or have served in our nation's military forces, as well as to reiterate my support for the men and women who sacrifice daily to preserve our freedom.
I must make it clear that I believe that we need to be very careful about getting involved in conflicts—it could easily become a "your family members' blood is worth less than my family members' blood" thing. If it is your family member who pays the ultimate price, the objective needs to be worthwhile. And if the objective really is worthwhile, then we must not allow time or cost to deter us from it.
<political>I just wonder if the stock prices of a few oil companies is worth American, British, Iraqi, and others' lives.</political>
